Job summary

Volkert, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer/Construction Manager to support its Maritime and Port service line in the Gulf Coast region.

The role requires overseeing port/maritime design and construction across Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana with regional travel and some remote work as needed. The successful candidate will lead design and construction activities, coordinate with clients and subconsultants, and ensure project schedules, budgets, and safety compliance are met from pre-design

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Port Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in design/construction project management for port/maritime projects.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).

Responsibilities

• Lead design engineer for port/maritime projects from concept through design and bid package.
• Manage and deliver construction of port and maritime projects.
• Represent the owner with design firms, contractors and consultants throughout all project phases.
• Develop Project Execution Plan (PEP) with schedules and staffing needs.
• Monitor QA/QC, progress reporting, and documentation.
