ABOUT YOUR ROLE

You will be leading the sourcing team and leading medium to long term sourcing strategy and supplier development in the production country to create strong vendor partnerships, ensuring that all products are developed on time and in line with the brand’s creative and strategic direction. You will work with the Asia Product Supply Sourcing team in the hub, to create the sourcing strategy for your production country.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
  • Managing vendor partnerships, ensuring performance that supports the product development processes of the brands.
  • To formulate sourcing strategies, propose alternatives in meeting end to end supply chain objectives, ensuring quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Build supply pipelines through sourcing and incorporate strategic dimensions and capabilities of suppliers, emphasis on quality management practices, process capabilities, design and development, and cost reduction capabilities into the decision-making process.
  • Effectively breaks down functional work plan into detailed work activities, ensures the team is fully aware of their respective roles and responsibilities.
  • Enhancing and advocating for vendors’ capabilities and use of new technologies to drive innovation of process and product.
  • Communicating proactively with Asia Hub stakeholders, product development and design teams to build and adhere to a product development calendar that enables best in class on time samples, execution and delivery.
  • Communicating proactively with stakeholders when there are development concerns raised – and provide solutions where possible, to rectify, whilst maintaining set calendar dates.
  • Collaboration with all in-country internal stakeholders across Production, Global Material Supply, Compliance, Responsible Sourcing, Product Stewardship, Logistics and Quality teams to ensure the delivery of all set KPIs.
  • Fostering and role modelling a culture of inclusion, candor and trust.
  • Support all associates in the team to ensure they create and drive their individual development plans – and develop a regular cadence of review.
  • Challenge the status quo by adopting a creative and curious style that can drive continuous improvement.
  • Participate in company-wide initiatives to promote VF purpose activation and to improve VF Asia Product Supply systems and processes.

  • Knowledge of apparel with proven experience in development of knitted and woven product and managing a diverse product collection.

EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Academic Degree: Textile, Apparel or related field preferred.
  • Working Experience: 7 to 10 years related to sourcing.
  • Supervisory management exposure will be an advantage.
  • Language Proficiency: Good communication skills in English. Local language proficiency will be an advantage.
  • Exposure to digital platforms for developing product, driving process efficiency will be a huge advantage.
