Job summary
A leading chemical processing company in Singapore is seeking a DCS operator to manage process parameters during plant operations. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role and a diploma in chemical engineering. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial. The position involves monitoring DCS alarms and working in Jurong Island on a rotating shift pattern.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years work experience as DCS operator in a chemical processing environment.
- Possess basic knowledge of chemical processing and equipment.
- Able to work 12 hours rotating shift pattern in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Control process parameters for plant start-up, normal operation, and shutdown.
- Monitor DCS for alarms and analyze deviations.
- Ensure close coordination between DCS action and field action.
Skills
Education
- Sound good chemical plant DCS operation knowledge to control process parameters for plant start up, normal operation and plant shutdown.
- Apply chemical plant operation knowledge to follow documented procedures (e.g. Standard operating procedure-SOP, EHS regulations, risk assessment).
- Closely monitor DCS (Distributed control system) for alarms, analyze the deviation and respond according to documented process adjustment steps.
- Given instruction to shift technician in the field, to ensure close coordination and clear communication between DCS action and field action, to prevent mis-operation.
- To demonstrate strong ownership, team spirit, challenge and sincerity
- Diploma or Nitec in Chemical engineering or equivalent.
- At least 3 years work experience as DCS operator in a chemical processing environment. Experience in polymerization and/or extrusion is advantageous.
- Possess basic Knowledge of chemical processing and equipment, with working knowledge of ISO14001, ISO9001/IATF16949, ISO45001, SS651.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work 12 hours rotating shift pattern in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work in Jurong Island
