Job summary

A leading heavy industry firm in Singapore is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee operations. The role involves managing a fleet of machines, scheduling maintenance, and leading a team of mechanics while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of experience in a heavy industry and a diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering. This position may require working 6 to 7 days a week depending on operational needs.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years experience in managing a heavy industry workshop.
  • Working knowledge of machinery repair and maintenance.
  • Experience in fleet management and scheduling of maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage fleet of machines, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Schedule preventive maintenance and attend to repairs.
  • Train and lead mechanics in repairs and servicing.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Requirements
  • At least diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical engineering.
  • At least 5 years experiences in managing steel or construction workshop or any heavy industry workshop, experiences in repair and maintenance of machinery.
  • To manage fleet of machines, equipments and vehicles, to schedule preventive maintenance and to attend to repairs and to train and lead mechanics for in-house repairs and servicing.
  • Have specific knowledge of electrical to supervise the usage of machinery and to ensure all safety measures and compliance regulation are strictly adhere to.
  • Have working knowledge of supervisory and leadership principles, operate and manage the full spectrum of the workshop operation and function, motivate and lead the workshop team to achieve the desire result and productivity output.
  • Daily and weekly reporting to Managing Director.
  • To work 6 days per week. May required to work 7 days a week in certain occasions.
