Job description

The Assistant Cook supports the Head Cook/Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, cleaning, and maintaining hygiene standards. This role ensures meals are prepared efficiently, safely, and according to established quality guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing ingredients such as washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring.
• Support the cooking process by following instructions from the Head Cook/Chef.
• Ensure proper storage and labeling of food items.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
• Help in receiving, checking, and organizing kitchen supplies and inventory.
• Assist in plating and serving food as required.
• Dispose of waste following kitchen protocols.
• Report any equipment issues or food shortages to the Head Cook/Chef.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support kitchen.
