Role Summary

The WAT Manager is responsible for leading wafer acceptance test (WAT) activities, including test system development, data analysis, process optimization, program management, and hardware debugging. This role oversees WAT operations to ensure test quality, stability, and continuous improvement while supporting fab manufacturing and device performance objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and optimization of parametric WAT programs for semiconductor devices on semi-automated and automated test platforms.
  • Ensure test coverage meets technology and product requirements.
  • Oversee execution of WAT tests to validate device characteristics, process health, and reliability.
  • Review and analyze test data to identify trends, abnormalities, and yield issues, and drive corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance test efficiency, accuracy, stability, repeatability, and cost effectiveness.
  • Standardize best practices and improve test methodologies across the fab.
  • Provide technical leadership in debugging and troubleshooting WAT hardware issues, including test instruments, probe cards, and interfaces.
  • Work closely with vendors and internal teams to resolve hardware-related challenges.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop WAT engineers and technicians.
  • Coordinate with process integration, device engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support fab and product goals.
  • Take full ownership of WAT performance, KPIs, and deliverables.
  • Ensure timely execution of projects and support fast-paced fab operations.
Education Qualification & Essential Experiences
  • Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering / Material Sciences or Physics science.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in Fab for testing expertise, WAT, automated test equipment (ATE), test program development.
  • Prior leadership or technical lead experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a startup, ramp or Greenfield fab experience is a Must
