Job description
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate security-focused projects involving diverse banking systems across Tokyo, Singapore, and other regions, aimed at enhancing security measures and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Plan and coordinate IT system implementation projects involving cross-functional teams across Tokyo and Singapore, including both IT and non-IT departments to strengthen banking IT security from a regional perspective.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on IT security to regional teams, while fostering effective collaboration with stakeholders across the Japan Head Office and APAC IT departments.
  • Identify potential project risks and issues, and evaluate alternative solutions to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Provide timely escalation and resolution of major issues to Management and Head Office.
  • Partner with the IT Planning Department to ensure that the architecture, processes, standards, strategies, and roadmap of all company platforms are aligned with those of JRI and / or the SMBC Group.
  • Collaborate with the Japan Head Office to establish and strengthen internal control frameworks that support effective governance and management across the organization.
  • Responsible for Project Governance - adherence to SDLC procedure, project management guideline, Outsourcing rule, Security rule).
  • Prepare and present budget plans for identified project initiatives, influencing, and negotiating with Head Office to obtain support for them.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent with around 10 years of experience to provide IT service to Financial Institute.
  • Proficiency in Japanese is preferred as this role needs to prepare reports in Japanese for reporting to Head Office in Japan. This role also needs to present and communicate with senior stakeholders who mainly communicate in Japanese.
  • Experience in handling regional projects involving stakeholders in Japan.
  • CISSP or CSIM certification is a plus
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience with at least 3 years in risk & control or audit function in the financial industry.
  • Proven experience in collaboration and workgroup for project delivery
  • Ability to identify risks and assess adequacy of controls as well as recommending suitable control enhancements
  • Possess knowledge of IT services within the banking or financial industry, with experience in delivering services across multiple regions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, capable of coordinating complex projects and ensuring timely execution.
  • Strong understanding of cyber risk management strategies and industry-standard controls, with the ability to apply best practices to enhance organizational security posture is a plus.
