Job summary

A leading bank in Singapore seeks a candidate for a key role in Securitization Finance. The successful applicant will manage client relationships and support financial operations. Job description
Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and promoting the advancement of our Securitization Finance ("SEC") business operations within the Asia Pacific region (excluding Japan) by focusing on strategic planning, operational readiness, research, and reporting including communicating with the Head Office in Japan.

Responsibilities

Strategic Involvement:

  • Assist the SEC team with the origination and execution of deals, collaborating effectively with MUFG branches and relevant divisions.
  • Prepare, maintain, and update various internal reports pertaining to SEC transactions.
  • Conduct Borrower Rating processes and credit analysis for existing and prospective clients.
  • Develop credit applications for potential transactions.
  • Aid in transaction documentation tasks, liaising with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Uphold operational solidness and adherence to internal process for transaction bookings.
  • Assist in the business planning and daily management for AIBD.

Financial Management:

  • Support the SEC team in the origination and execution of deals, cooperating closely with respective MUFG divisions to meet the team's financial goals and fulfil Key Performance Indicators.

Customer relationship:

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with existing and prospective SEC clientele with a goal to originate mandates for leading debt issuance and arrangement of transactions.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Japanese clients and Tokyo Head office, managing communication, transaction, discussion and mandate-related coordination to support origination and execution of securitization transactions.

Teamwork:

  • Provide guidance and facilitate the transfer of knowledge to junior team members.
  • Actively liaise with numerous departments and collaborate closely with other regions to foster a cohesive global securitization team.

Risk & Control:

  • Ensure transactions align with the Bank's risk profile requirements and perform thorough analysis on transactional risks or related aspects, acquiring necessary credit approvals.
  • Comply with all applicable MAS regulations and MUFG group policies.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum JLPT N1 Certification (or equivalent business-level Japanese proficiency) with demonstrated experience communicating with Japanese stakeholders and senior management, including acting as a key point of contact for securitization finance transactions across Tokyo Head Office and APAC.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in solution finance business.
  • Demonstrated experience in banking operations with solid understanding of banking operations complemented by exceptional communication, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with legal principles and demonstrable knowledge in documenting securitization finance transactions.
  • Robust business insight with a proven knack for closing deals.
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills for internal and customer-facing communication relating to SEC transactions.
  • Self-starter attitude, cooperative team player while capable of operating independently with a customer-centric approach.
