Vice President Investment Operations & Data Management

Location: Singapore

My client is seeking an experienced Vice President Investment Operations & Data Management to lead the full operational lifecycle supporting our hedge fund strategies and enterprise data functions. This leadership role is critical to ensuring the organization position as Asia’s leading financial marketplace, delivering operational excellence, data integrity, and innovative solutions that empower investment decision‑making across regional and global markets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Operational Excellence

• Manage end-to-end operational processes such as corporate actions handling, valuations, performance measurement, and liquidity management
• Ensure high reliability and accuracy of real‑time data management systems and operational platforms
• Lead periodic operational reviews, ensuring clear communication with internal and external stakeholders
• Establish and maintain strong operational risk controls, data governance frameworks, and business continuity procedures
• Drive innovation in operational processes, data infrastructure, and analytics to meet evolving market, regulatory, and investment needs
• Support business development initiatives by enhancing operational scalability and enabling new products and strategies

2. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and develop a high‑performing team of operations specialists, data analysts, and technology professionals
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational discipline
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Technology, Risk, Market Operations, and Business Development teams

3. Regulatory & Compliance Oversight

• Ensure compliance with MAS regulations and global standards for hedge fund operations and financial data governance
• Oversee documentation for operational processes and maintain transparency in data and workflow methodologies
• Lead internal and external audits related to hedge fund operations and data management

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative discipline; CFA or MBA preferred
• Proven track record in operational management within hedge funds, asset managers, fund administrators, or major financial institutions
• Deep understanding of hedge fund structures, operational workflows, financial instruments, market data systems, and valuation processes; exposure to derivatives and multi‑asset strategies is a plus
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing hedge fund operations and financial data governance
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with strong attention to detail
