We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Vice President, Business Finance.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clear, timely and value-adding financial oversight and business performance analytics supported by insightful commentary on key drivers, risks and opportunities, referencing external factors and competitor performance to support strategic and commercial decision-making
  • Translate complex financial information into concise, decision and action-oriented messaging for senior management including forward-looking insights for business performance improvement and optimisation
  • Support strategic planning processes, delivery and production of rolling forecasts, annual long term Financial Resource Planning (FRP), detailed budgeting and front office markets allocation by business drivers
  • Play a pivotal role in reviewing and challenging business cases for investments, business initiatives, headcount and resources request, ensuring robust financial and costs management discipline
  • Develop a detailed understanding of HSBC systems and data, and work closely with stakeholders (i.e. Finance Change Team) to enhance analytical capabilities in Qliksense & Kali, drive improved efficiency through code-light automations (e.g., Alteryx) and AI enablers adoption
  • Pro-actively investigate issues escalated by Business users with respect to their sales performance and liaise with Global Change team in timely resolution and follow through
  • Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders, adopting a collaborative approach to constructively challenge and implement changes
  • Ensure compliance with HSBC’s financial governance, risk management and internal control standards; including but not limiting to, timely accounts’ reconciliation, substantiation and sign-off, partnering with Financial Accounting & Controls team, Regional Finance teams to drive management information integrity and supporting internal assurance reviews, audits and regulatory requirements as needed
Qualifications
  • Education: Qualified accountant and/or holder of professional qualifications such as CFA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are preferred. Previous experience in Financial Reporting or Business Finance is advantageous
  • Experience: Extensive background in Business Finance, FP&A, or Performance Management within banking or financial services. Strong understanding of Private Banking or Wealth Management business models and drivers preferred
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial modelling, Excel, Power BI/Tableau, Alteryx and FP&A software tools. Strong understanding of banking products, with sound knowledge of data infrastructure, data quality, analytics, and controls
  • Change Management Skills: Demonstrated experience in change management, supporting digital transformation, and adopting emerging technologies such as AI-driven automation
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, influencing and collaboration skills, attention to details and ability to translate complex data into clear narratives for non-finance stakeholders. Strategic thinker with commercial acumen, resilience in a fast-paced environment, and a strong commitment to HSBC's values of integrity, diversity, and sustainability. Proven business partnering and stakeholder management skills, with experience working effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders
