Job summary

A global financial services group in Singapore seeks an experienced economist to produce macroeconomic forecasts and analytical reports for ASEAN markets. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience, strong quantitative skills, and the ability to deliver clear insights. This position demands collaboration and effective communication with clients as well as internal stakeholders, with a focus on the Thai market.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience as an economist or strategist covering the ASEAN region.
  • Minimum of 4 years of research experience covering markets that include Thailand.
  • Advance quantitative skills with experience in economic forecasting or econometric modeling.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce clear economic research and deliver insights effectively.

Role Description / Areas of responsibility:
  • Produce macroeconomic forecasts and analytical reports for ASEAN markets, with Thailand included in the designated coverage scope, and support internal stakeholders with cross‑country comparative insights.
  • Write thematic research papers which are commercial and original, as well as regular reports on policy announcements and key data releases
  • Develop quantitative forecasting models and new proprietary indicators
  • Service client requests and regularly present views to external and internal clients
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience as an economist or strategist covering the ASEAN region
  • Minimum of 4 years of research experience covering markets that include Thailand, as the role requires analytical coverage of the Thai market.
  • Advance quantitative skills, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in economic forecasting or econometric modelling.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills, with demonstrated ability to produce clear economic research and deliver insights effectively
  • Experience collaborating with regulatory bodies or government agencies is an advantage
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and manage deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
