Job summary

A wildlife conservation organization in Singapore seeks an experienced veterinary nurse to provide medical care and support for wildlife patients. Responsibilities include patient triage, administration of treatments, and maintaining medical equipment. Job description

Mandai Wildlife Group is the steward of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a unique wildlife and nature destination in Singapore that is home to world‑renown wildlife parks which connect visitors to the fascinating world of wildlife. The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature‑based experiences, green public spaces and an eco‑friendly resort.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive, register and triage patients.
  • Perform clinical skills, such as phlebotomy, endotracheal intubation, intravenous and urinary catheterisation.
  • Knowledge in general animal diseases and treatment.
  • Administration of treatments under veterinary supervision.
  • Experience in using different types of medical equipment such as anaesthetic machines, ventilator, patient monitors etc.
  • Preparation and assistance with patient examinations, surgery, diagnostic imaging and anaesthesia, including field procedures.
  • Assist with animal restraint.
  • Assist with basic laboratory duties.
  • Care of hospitalised patients, including ward husbandry duties (den set‑up, food preparation, feeding, cleaning, patient monitoring).
  • Ensure good housekeeping of hospital.
  • Assist with maintenance of pharmacy inventory, including sourcing and ordering of drugs.
  • Responsible for care and maintenance of medical equipment, including sourcing and arranging for servicing.
  • Maintain good inventory and clinical records.
  • Adherence to SOPs and safe work procedures.
  • Commits to professional development and continuous learning in veterinary nursing field.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Veterinary Nursing/Technology, Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in veterinary nursing with competencies for clinical skills.
  • Experience in wildlife and/or exotics will be advantageous.
  • Able to work on weekends and public holidays.
  • Excellent team player who can also work well independently.
  • Able to work in outdoor environment.
  • Possession of Class 3/3A licences will be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
