Job Description & Requirements

We are seeking a skilled Veritas NetBackup Senior Engineer to join our team. This role involves end-to-end responsibility for the design, deployment, implementation, and technical support of Veritas NetBackup environments (clouds). The ideal candidate Should have in-depth experience with NetBackup versions 7.x through 10.x, as well as good knowledge/hads-on exp in NetBackup migration & catalog migration (desirable). Hands-on experience with NetBackup Appliances, Flex Appliances, deployment in cloud and Red Hat Linux administration is essential for success in this position. Excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and customer relationship management are also critical for delivering quality service to clients. Knowledge and hands-on expereicne on Veritas Cluster server or Infoscale is a definte plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Deployment:Architect and design comprehensive backup and recovery solutions using Veritas NetBackup, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and client requirements.
  Lead deployment and configuration of NetBackup environments, including versions 7.x, 8.x, 9.x, and 10.x, as well as integration with NetBackup and Flex Appliances and Red Hat Linux.
• Implementation and Migration:Manage end-to-end implementation and upgrades of Veritas NetBackup solutions across complex environments.
  Perform NetBackup migrations, including catalog migrations (preferred), to ensure seamless data protection and minimal client disruption.
• Technical Support and Troubleshooting:Provide expert technical support, troubleshooting complex issues across Veritas NetBackup, appliances, and Red Hat Linux systems.
  Resolve customer technical problems promptly and escalate issues as necessary, ensuring high client satisfaction.
• Client and Team Collaboration:Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored data protection solutions.
  Collaborate with internal teams, sharing insights and promoting best practices for optimal project outcomes.
• Documentation and Communication:Prepare detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, deployment guides, and operational procedures.
  Create and deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders, effectively communicating project status, findings, and solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience: 6-10 years of hands-on experience with Veritas NetBackup, including versions 7.x through 10.x, with NetBackup migration expertise (catalog migration preferred).
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Technical Skills:Strong expertise in Veritas NetBackup and data protection principles, with experience across multiple versions.
  Proficiency with NetBackup Appliances, Flex Appliances, and Red Hat Linux administration.
  Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in backup and recovery contexts.
• Soft Skills:Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  Proven customer relationship management skills and client-facing experience.
  Team-oriented, with a collaborative approach to technical project execution.
