Job description

UR is a self-custodial, borderless smart money app that simplifies how users spend, off-ramp, and manage both fiat and digital assets. Built for crypto natives and the crypto curious, UR turns complex Web3 workflows into intuitive everyday experiences.

As UX Design Lead, you will own and scale the end-to-end user experience for UR across multiple user journeys — from onboarding and KYC, to crypto on/off-ramping, cross-chain transfers, and card activation. This role blends product strategy, UX research, copy, and cross-functional leadership.

• Lead UX Strategy: Own experience architecture across flows — onboarding, card use, transfers, KYC, etc.
• Context-Driven Design: Adapt UX to different user modes and decision points.
• User Research & Metrics: Plan and lead research initiatives; define metrics for success (e.g., drop-offs, completion rates).
• UX Writing: Write clear, human, in-app copy — tooltips, error states, onboarding tips.
• Mentor Designers: Coach UI designers to elevate UX thinking across the team.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Challenge constraints and align design, product, and engineering on user-centric decisions.
• Design Systems Thinking: Ensure experiences are cohesive, consistent, and contextually meaningful.

What You Bring

• 7+ years of UX design experience, ideally within consumer fintech or digital banking
• Proven success designing and shipping full user journeys in 0→1 or early-stage products
• Strong research, writing, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Strategic thinking balanced with a hands-on, iterative mindset
• Comfortable navigating constraints (e.g., regulatory, technical, compliance)
• Experience mentoring or leading other designers
• Detail-oriented mindset with a strong focus on user experience — even beyond the app
• Familiarity with crypto/Web3 UX (wallets, bridging, gas fees)
• Experience in DeFi, digital wallets, or exchanges
