Job summary

A leading treasury management firm in Singapore seeks a Treasury Manager to oversee treasury services, manage relationships with banks, and lead projects in the corporate treasury function. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree, proficiency in Japanese, and at least 5 years of experience in corporate treasury, especially with Japanese firms. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with regional stakeholders.

Roles & Responsibilities

As the Treasury Manager, the position is responsible for management of treasury services to Bridgestone Corporation (Japan HQ) and Bridgestone group companies mainly located in Asia Pacific and China.

The position should demonstrate initiatives to enhance, streamline and strengthen our treasury capabilities proactively by organizing various treasury solutions architects to design, discuss, assess feasibility and summarize overall solutions in alignment with business strategies so as to build future-state solutions.

To be a window person with Japan HQ to respond to various treasury inquiries including general administrative issues and conduct treasury related surveys to Bridgestone group companies.

To accomplish these roles and responsibilities, the position is required to communicate with major Japanese, US and European commercial banks including negotiations and maintaining good relationship.

Managing operation of intercompany loan and FX dealing is also the responsible of the position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage treasury transactions for Bridgestone business units in Asia Pacific and China region with regional stakeholders under ever changing business landscape in tyre and rubber industry.
  • Project management for corporate treasury function to strengthen, streamline and enhance a part of global treasury function in collaboration with Japan HQ.
  • Organize various treasury solutions architects to design, discuss, assess feasibility and summarize overall solutions in alignment with business strategies so as to build future-state solutions.
  • Work with Bridgestone business units in Asia Pacific and China region to prepare business cases and define potential benefits.
  • Response to various inquiries from Japan HQ on treasury matters including general administrative issues in both Japanese and English language.
  • Coordinate and arrange intercompany loan processing and FX dealing including spot, forward and NDF for Bridgestone group companies.
  • Organize Budget and Mid Term planning in accordance with instruction from Japan HQ.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics/business administration or related discipline from a recognized university.
  • Business proficiency in both written and spoken Japanese (native / JLPT N1 or higher level) to coordinate and communicate precise information with Japanese stakeholders in Japan HQ and relevant parties.
  • Speak good business English to communicate with stakeholders.
  • Proven experience of at least 5 years of exposure in corporate treasury or accounting field including in Japanese company.
  • Thorough knowledge of market changes and forces that influence the group in tyre and rubber industry including general understandings of tyre and rubber business.
  • Understanding of debt capital market, financing terms and conditions and knowledge of interest rate and FX products.
  • Good knowledge of accounting relating to financial derivatives transactions under IFRS and J-GAAP.
  • Excellent business acumen with proven business development track records and strategic vision.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency is a must.
