A leading energy company seeks a Trading Operator in Singapore. This role involves ensuring compliance with HSSE standards, effective stock management, and coordinating with various teams for smooth trading operations. The ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal skills, analytical abilities, and ideally previous experience in trading operations. This position offers a hybrid working model with up to 10% travel expected.
Supply, Trading & Shipping, Asia Pacific and Middle East (ST&S APME) is the supply and trading arm of bp and is our face to the traded markets for oil, gas, power, refinery and chemical feedstock and currencies. Leveraging on our outstanding expertise and insights, we are the leading buyer and seller of spot cargoes, with a focus on responsiveness and the introduction of new products to keep the world’s energy moving. ST&S APME supports other bp businesses by providing a competitive supply and trading function that covers oil, chemicals, power and gas as well as a suite of risk‑management tools. Our trading business delivers gross margin through entrepreneurial trading activities and the optimisation of blending and shipping operations. ST&S APME’s vision is to grow the Eastern Hemisphere supply and trading business into an industry‑leading organisation that is not only profitable and safe but also one that respects the environment and communities that we operate in inverno.
We are seeking an applicant to fill the position of Trading Operator, based in Singapore. The successful candidate will be part of the larger Trading Operations team and reporting to the Team Lead, GDIST – Fuel Oil. The bench strives to extract maximum value through commercial execution of the physical contract, effective stock‑inventory management, timely scheduling of deliveries to end receivers, as well as optimising cargo matching and tanker berthing/delivery schedules. These operational objectives are aligned with BP’s “Who we are” framework, which are to be achieved with no compromise to BP’s operating standards.
Up to 10% travel should be expected with this role.
This role is not eligible for relocation.
This position is a hybrid of office/remote working.
