Overview

Non-linear Trading & Structuring is an integrated global client driven business with the mandate to trade non-linear and combination products in Rates, Credit, and FX and brings value to clients including Financial Institutions and Corporates through working in-house sector specific expertise as well as compliance, risk, finance and legal functions.

The team works closely with the other Financial Markets Trading, DCM Syndicate and Sector Origination Desks, Sales, Solutions and Distribution Teams to deliver any less standardised client solutions and efficiently reflect, negotiate and manage the risk parameters associated with the business through dynamic hedging with market participants. The team also collaborates actively with the Quantitative Development team in IT / Front-Office system developments to improve operational efficiency through digitalisation and deep-dives into the development of new products revolving around derivatives, securities, loans and special purpose vehicles via a structured approval process.

Your Duties and Responsibilities
  • Based in Singapore and reporting to the Trading Desk Head where clear and transparent communication is essential to all stakeholders
  • Actively originate trade ideas and targeted solutions to clients jointly with Sales, Solutions, Origination, Distribution, DCM Syndicate teams to structure, price and prepare proposals on client requests promptly and with precision to generate consistent revenues in APAC
  • Monitor and manage the trading risk positions on the desk on a day-to-day basis and strictly adhere to internal limits and requirements, independently formulate trading views and ideas for revenue generation to achieve desk profitability targets
  • Identify business opportunities taking into account market themes and be in constant dialogue with market participants in formulating a dynamic forward looking view
  • Prepare material and execute commercial pitches on various bespoke and structured solutions jointly with other teams
  • Best execution of trades encompassing thorough reviews of legal documentations and risk approvals with an inquisitive and curious eye with attention to detail
  • Work closely and build relationships with all FO teams and Compliance, Risk, Legal, Finance and Tax with the aim of increasing client business
  • Active involvement in IT / Front-Office system developments to achieve operational efficiency, standardization and automation
  • Active involvement in the development of new products in a prioritized manner and work closely with relevant stakeholders in the Front-Office Quants, Developers and Risk teams
  • Be cognizant of regulatory developments and, together with FM Regulatory / Legal teams as well as with Business Management, interpret and understand the possible impact to existing and new business opportunities
Your Profile

Qualification/Education

Strong education ideally in Finance, Engineering, Physics, Financial Engineering or equivalent degree

Experience/Knowledge/Competencies
  • Proven relevant experience and strong performance in similar structured credit trading role for 7+ years
  • Experience in SPV repackages (incl. SRTs), securitization and covered bond swaps, bespoke CDS/TRS, bespoke repo packages, leverage, callable or optional credit payoffs is advantageous
  • Entrepreneurial with high levels of self-motivation and energy with a result-oriented approach

  • Sound analytical and technical approach with a keen eye for detail
