Job description
Purpose of the Role

The Therapy Assistant (TA) works under the direction and supervision of our occupational therapists and physiotherapists. TAs help clients support the implementation of a therapy plan designed to help clients recovering from injuries to regain their functional abilities under the direction and advisement of a therapist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct tailored rehabilitation program under the direction and supervision of the therapists. These include:
    • Set up of therapy equipment and space in a safe and appropriate manner which supports clients’ participation in therapy sessions, and participation in ABLE’s client services.
    • Supervise clients in performing activities and exercises to ensure that programme prescribed by therapists are carried out correctly and safely.
    • Conduct or assist with group therapy and/or activities and programmes offered by ABLE’s client services.
    • Take vital signs of clients pre and post intervention and show basic understanding of how to monitor and manage any potential adverse events to activity.
    • Take note of client’s progress and report progress to therapist via verbal or written reports.
    • Assist in patient education.
  • Ensure safety of clients during sessions.
  • Perform simple housekeeping and administrative work e.g. collecting outcome measures, managing client database, equipment inventory etc.
Requirements
  • At least 1-3 years of work experience. Experience in working in the neurorehabilitation field with would be an advantage
  • Applicants with hospital or community-setting experience are welcomed to apply.
  • Comfortable working in a small multidisciplinary team and open to receiving training on how to facilitate clients with neurological impairments and vocational rehabilitation goals.
  • Possess good time management skills to support the daily operations and administrative roles in support of the Rehabilitation team’s services.
