A leading educational institution in Singapore is seeking applications for tenure-track faculty positions in the Cardiovascular-Metabolic Disease Translational Research Programme. Candidates should have a robust research background in cardiovascular and metabolic sciences. Roles involve conducting research, mentoring students, and publishing in peer-reviewed journals. Preferred qualifications include a PhD or MD and experience in extramural grant funding. Attractive startup packages and institutional resources are offered.
Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore seeks applications for tenure-track positions in the Cardiovascular-Metabolic Disease Translational Research Programme (CVMD-TRP) and the Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI), National University Heart Centre Singapore (NUHCS), at the ranks of Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor. The mission of CVMD-TRP and CVRI includes cutting-edge basic and translational research in vascular and heart diseases, population-level studies with deep phenotyping, mechanistic clinical trials, medical technology development, and the advancement of biomedical data sciences. In the next chapter of our programme, we aim to broaden the research scope to include metabolic dysregulation and upstream molecular mechanisms of CVMD relevant to multi-organ crosstalk. In line with this strategic plan, we invite applications from exceptional researchers and thought leaders in the prevention and treatment across the full spectrum of CVMD.
Successful candidates at senior level are expected to have a robust scholarly record and an established research agenda in cardiovascular and metabolic sciences. Specifically, priority will be given to those who study molecular and cellular mechanisms in extracardiac systems (cerebral, renal, pulmonary, hepatic, and gastrointestinal) and related diseases. Applicants for junior and mid-career positions may come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise in state-of-the‑art functional genomics, biophysics and biomechanics, multi‑omics integration, and artificial intelligence for electronic medical records and imaging data. In addition to these areas, applicants with a strong track record in medical technology development and commercialization will also be given priority, with the option to be considered for a non‑tenure track position.
We expect candidates to demonstrate excellence in academic medicine (for clinician scientists) and translational science, and to engage to some extent in teaching and mentoring undergraduate medical students, postgraduate students, and postdoctoral fellows as a secondary activity. All successful candidates will enjoy access to extensive institutional resources and a generous start‑up package, along with university‑level guidance to secure talent awards and priority assignments of high‑caliber graduate students.
For all positions, a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree in a relevant field of study, as well as applicable postdoctoral and/or faculty experience, are expected. Candidates for Associate and Full Professor positions should provide evidence of a strong record of individual or programme‑level extramural grant funding. We anticipate candidates to publish research articles in high‑quality, peer‑reviewed, top‑tier mainstream journals in CVMD.
To apply, please prepare a full curriculum vitae and a concise summary of current and future research plans.
For Assistant Professor positions, arrange three (3) reference letters including the PhD advisor and ask the referees directly mail the search committee by email mdchwc@nus.edu.sg.
For Associate and Full Professor positions, please arrange six (6) reference letters in total. Of the six, at least three letters must be obtained from a list agreed upon by the applicant and the search committee. Once the referee list is finalized, the department administrator and the Academic Affairs Office of the medical school will manage the process thereafter.
Review of applications will continue until the positions are filled.
