This site produces optical lenses such as spherical, aspherical and plano optics, with large machine shop capabilities and expertise in optical coating and assembly. Our photonic products and solutions serve a wide range of markets and applications in the areas of medicine, life science, industrial manufacturing, defense and aerospace, as well as research and development. We are presently seeking an Assembly Technician who will support the team to fulfill customer\'s expectations.

Responsibilities

• Operations will include, but not limited to:
• • Mechanical, electrical, optical assembly and test.
  • Use of vacuum systems.
  • Bulk and intricate cleaning of parts and assemblies.
  • Packing.
  • Completion of relevant electronic records.
  • Work with the leadership team to improve processing times as required.
• Carry out training of other employees, according to Company training, work instructions and as per the grading structure.
• Work within Company policies and procedures regarding safety, quality, material control and maintain high levels of workmanship and cleanliness.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending and implementing preventative and corrective measures, working with engineering to introduce new products.
• Highly adaptable approach and willing to transition between department to fulfil evolving business needs.
• Carry out all reasonable requests from the leadership community.

Qualifications

• GCE ’N’ Level or Technical Certificate and above.
• Previous relevant experience in a manufacturing or process driven environment.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience with repetitive, varied and complex work.
• IT competency, eg. Microsoft packages.
• Comfortable with test equipment, keen to learn new equipment functionality.
• Dexterous with small components.
• Be competent recording data in spreadsheet or in process control system.
• Actively listens to new ideas and demonstrates willingness to try out new ideas. Understands where to go and what questions to ask to access the right information.
