Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and interpret P&ID used for power plant
• Prepare drawings for overall plant layout
• Perform required calculations and analysis (eg. pipe wall thickness, opening reinforcement, piping load data and thermal stress analysis)
• Support and review Piping GA drawings, isometric drawings and pipe support drawings
• Select appropriate piping materials and specialties to meet project requirements
• Prepare piping material specification, valves and piping specialties specification, insulation specification, painting and coating specification
• Perform technical evaluation and prepare purchase order specification for piping specialties
• Coordinate and interface with clients and other disciplines on engineering designs matters
• Provide technical guidance to designers for preparing piping GA drawings, isometric drawings and pipe support design
• Support construction team to solve technical problems and propose practical solutions to achieve required outcome under constraint
• Any other duties to be assigned from time to time

Pre-requisites

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 10 years’ of relevant work experience in EPC projects with specialization in power plants
• Competent in using tools and software such as AutoCAD and CAESAR-II
• Good knowledge of engineering codes and standards commonly used for power plant
• Prior experience in leading a team of design engineers and designers is an added advantage
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle stress and be sensitive to deadlines
• Proactive and able to multi-task
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
