MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Sales & Specification
- Proactively identify and cultivate new business opportunities with MRT/Metro clients, main contractors (especially TBM operators), consulting engineers, and precast segment manufacturers.
- Drive the specification and approval of specialized TBM-related products, including (but not limited to) soil conditioning agents (foaming agents/polymers), tail seal mastics ,backfill grouts , and concrete admixtures for precast segments.
- Conduct technical presentations and workshops to project stakeholders, clearly articulating the performance benefits, application methods, and cost-in-use advantages of solutions over competitors.
Project Management & Support
- Act as the on-site technical consultant during critical phases of TBM tunneling projects, providing expert advice on product selection, dosage, and application parameters.
- Collaborate closely with the internal underground team to deliver customized solutions based on specific ground conditions (e.g., Karstic limestone, mixed face, soft ground) and TBM types (e.g., EPB, Slurry).
- Monitor product performance on-site and troubleshoot any technical issues quickly and effectively to ensure project continuity.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Track all major underground construction tenders and MRT expansion plans in the region.
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve ambitious revenue targets in the TBM and tunneling market.
- Provide market feedback to the R&D and Product Management teams regarding local product requirements and competitive activity.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years in a technical sales, application, or business development role within the construction materials or heavy civil engineering industry.
- Preferred proven experience working directly on TBM Tunneling projects (MRT/Metro/Highway tunnels) and a good understanding of the TBM operational cycle.
- Demonstrable track record of successfully selling or specifying specialty chemical construction products to main contractors or consultants.
Technical Competencies (Specific to TBM)
- In-depth knowledge of TBM chemistry, including soil conditioning principles for Earth Pressure Balance (EPB) and Slurry TBMs.
- Familiarity with specifications and applications for two-component tail seal mastics and backfill grouts used in segmented tunnel lining.
- Solid understanding of concrete technology as it relates to high-performance, durable precast tunnel segments.
Commercial & Soft Skills
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to build and maintain long-term, high-value relationships with senior technical and commercial stakeholders.
- Self-starter with a results-driven mentality and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
