Technical Program Manager

Advanced MedTech is seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to be the product expert on the technology, the competitive products, the application of the technology and the industry using the technology. The TPM works extensively with the Research team and the Product Marketing Manager to track the technology, define activities and incorporate its’ use into our roadmaps and products in new and innovative ways to produce positive business results.

Responsibilities

Define the technologies global strategy and roadmap; create new ideas and innovations using Advanced MedTech’s unique capabilities while addressing market needs and opportunities.

Strategize, plan, and lead product, application and clinical research to identify and define opportunities to support and grow sales of the technology. Use win/loss reports, financial, technological, and demographic factors so that market opportunities may be capitalized on, and coordinating Advanced MedTech’s strategy by responding to:

  • Customer Trends
  • Competitive Trends
  • Fundamental market drivers

Perform technology assessment and develop overarching strategic plan for the technology and positioning in coordination with global product marketing personnel and direction to create a unique and innovative position for Advanced MedTech.

Analyze the competitive landscape including product tear downs, technology assessments, cost analysis, lifecycle tracking, supply chain, regulatory and manufacturing changes and state of the art trends.

Specify user requirements for current and future products supported by research, on‑going visits to customers and non‑customers. Identifies new insights from voice of the customer research.

Monitor industry and technology advancements to alert Advanced MedTech to new innovations which could benefit the business. Keep abreast of the state of the art for technologies and outcomes useful to Advanced MedTech’s business interests. Keep in close contact with key opinion leaders, clinical researchers and product developers. Position Advanced MedTech favorably within the Industry through knowledge and involvement at influential organizations, research facilities, academic centers and key opinion leaders.

Actively participates with cross functional team including engineering, sourcing, service and production to manage entire product line life cycle and maintain customer satisfaction and business objectives. Works effectively using guidance and influence to affect change and improvement.

Actively seeks opportunities for revenue and margin growth through technology extensions, portfolio expansion, or operational /cost improvements to existing product portfolio.

Requirements
Education/Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or related technical field required. MBA preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years product management or technical product experience preferred
  • Prefer healthcare and/or medical device and global product management experience.
  • Ability to execute an integrated clinical and technology plan and knowledge of marketing strategies to create, build share and manage product life cycle.
  • Proven track record successfully implementing technology into products
