Job description

An established local A1 Building Contractor is looking for a Technical Director to join our dynamic organisation :

PRE-REQUISITE OF A TECHNICAL DIRECTOR POSITION

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and update technical standards for the company
• Set design criteria, check design calculation and drawings
• Ensure concept and sketch designs are approved before progressing to the next stage
• Ensure timeliness of production of works carried out by the Team
• Formalise standards for specifications, drawings etc. in conjunction with other Team Leaders and Division Managers
• Review all technical specifications, subcon submission to project team
• Ensure design and documentation work carried out by team members is correct and comply with codes and local authority requirements
• Ensure various project submissions are made on time and follow up on approvals
• Support Tender team by reviewing tender specification and precast construction method for complex condition, eg basement ERSS, working in Railway production Zone, extreme long span or high void construction, etc
• Support QS team to review specification and method statement before subcontractor award
• Attend design/site meetings, including all other important meetings with Architects, Clients and Authorities
• Conduct technical training to staffs to raise their awareness to Authority requirement, latest practices and construction method

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree/Master in Geotechnical/ Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent
• Preferably registered as Professional Engineer with PE Board Singapore
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in building and/or civil projects
• Proven track record of successful projects management and delivery within assigned budget, time, quality and safety
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Possess good leadership qualities.
• Good positive working attitude, self-motivated and responsible.
• Good knowledge of local Authority requirement – BCA/LTA/SCDF/PUB/etc
• Experience in basement construction and other complex structure construction
• Good knowledge of precast and Advance precast – 2D and 3D
