About the Role

Brighton College (Singapore), is seeking an inspirational Teacher of French (and Spanish) to join our expanding school community from August 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of the Senior School’s modern languages provision as Brighton College (Singapore) grows from a first-class Prep School into one of the region’s leading all-through schools, offering education from Pre‑Nursery to Year 13.

What you will be doing
  • Deliver high-quality French and Spanish lessons across the Senior School, ensuring all pupils are engaged, challenged and supported to make excellent progress.
  • Teach and support pupils preparing for IGCSE French (starting with a new Year 11 cohort in August 2026) and A-level French (starting with a new Year 12 cohort in August 2026).
  • Work with the Head of MFL to teach and support pupils in Key Stage 3 Spanish.
  • Provide guidance for Sixth Form pupils interested in pursuing languages, international studies or related university courses.
  • Contribute to a rich and varied co‑curricular French programme, including language clubs, cultural events, and other enrichment opportunities that engage pupils of all abilities.
  • Organise and support language competitions, exchanges, and cultural events for Senior School pupils, coordinating with Prep School staff where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the assessment, tracking and reporting of pupil progress in French, ensuring accurate, constructive feedback is provided.
  • Demonstrate the experience and ability to teach French across Key Stages 3–5, and Spanish at Key Stage 3, adapting lessons to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities.
  • Act as an outstanding classroom practitioner, modelling excellent teaching, high expectations and a positive approach to learning.
  • Promote excellence, creativity and innovation in all areas of the French curriculum.
  • Work closely with the Head of MFL, and the Heads of EAL and AEN to develop tailored pathways for pupils requiring additional support.
  • Contribute to the school’s pastoral system and act as a tutor for a Senior School year group.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
  • Undertake any other reasonable management requests in support of the school’s mission, vision and values.
Who we are looking for
  • Bachelor’s degree in French, with PGCE or equivalent.
  • Expert knowledge or experience of successfully delivering French at GCSE/IGCSE and A-level.
  • Secure knowledge or experience of successfully delivering Spanish at Key Stage 3.
  • International school experience (preferred).
  • Exemplifies the Brighton College (Singapore) values of Curiosity, Confidence and Kindness.
  • An international outlook and understanding of working in diverse environments.
