Managing Director (MD)

Company Overview

A Hong Kong–listed Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) group with integrated capabilities across R&D, manufacturing, distribution, and brand management. The company operates under stringent regulatory frameworks in Hong Kong and Mainland China and is focused on sustainable growth, product innovation, and international expansion.

Role Summary

The Managing Director is the chief executive responsible for overall strategy, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and financial performance of the Group. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the MD provides visionary leadership to drive growth while upholding TCM heritage, product quality, and public company governance standards.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
  • Formulate and execute the Group’s short-, medium-, and long-term strategies aligned with Board objectives.
  • Lead transformation initiatives across manufacturing, supply chain, digitalization, and commercialization.
  • Build a high-performance executive team and foster a strong compliance and performance culture.
Corporate Governance & Board Management
  • Act as the primary interface with the Board, shareholders, and key committees.
  • Ensure compliance with HKEX Listing Rules, SFO, Corporate Governance Code, and disclosure obligations.
  • Oversee investor relations, earnings communications, AGM/EGM preparation, and market disclosures.
Financial & Business Performance
  • Deliver sustainable revenue growth, margin improvement, and capital efficiency.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, capital allocation, M&A, and risk management.
  • Ensure robust internal controls, audit readiness, and financial reporting integrity.
Operations & Supply Chain
  • Oversee end-to-end operations including GMP manufacturing, procurement of herbal materials, quality assurance, and logistics.
  • Ensure operational scalability, cost optimization, and supply continuity.
  • Drive ESG initiatives, sustainability sourcing, and environmental compliance.
R&D, Quality & Regulatory Affairs
  • Champion TCM R&D, formulation innovation, and product pipeline development.
  • Ensure compliance with PRC NMPA, Hong Kong Department of Health, GMP, GACP, and relevant international standards.
  • Maintain the highest standards of product safety, efficacy, and pharmacovigilance.
Sales, Marketing & Market Expansion
  • Lead go-to-market strategy across Mainland China, Hong Kong, and selected international markets.
  • Strengthen brand equity through omnichannel marketing, hospital/clinic partnerships, and consumer education.
  • Explore strategic partnerships, licensing, and overseas expansion opportunities.
Stakeholder Management
  • Maintain strong relationships with regulators, research institutions, hospitals, distributors, and strategic partners.
  • Represent the Group externally with media, industry associations, and government bodies.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MSc, PhD) preferred.

Language & Location
  • Fluency in Mandarin required; proficiency in English essential; Cantonese highly advantageous.
  • Based in Singapore with frequent travel to HK, Mainland China and overseas markets.
