The system administrator works closely with the IT team and other departments to ensure the robustness, security, and scalability of our IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain server and network infrastructure, and implement solutions to ensure high availability, performance, and security across all systems
• Monitor and optimize system performance, and implement upgrades
• Implement and maintain security measures
• Manage backup solutions and disaster recovery plans
• Work closely with other departments to support their technology needs

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in computer engineering or related field
• Experience with Linux systems
• Experience with building/managing reasonable size to large compute clusters, whether it is HPC in academia or in industrial settings
• Knowledge of high performance networking and data storage
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
• Effective communicator and decision maker
