As a globally ranked Top 100 club, we demand conditioning that reflects our world-class status. The Superintendent is a critical leadership role, responsible for delivering elite, tournament-level playing surfaces across multiple courses featuring warm-season grasses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tournament & Course Conditioning: Oversee all turf maintenance operations across greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and roughs, maintaining elite, consistent conditions on warm-season grasses. Develop and execute detailed tournament preparation plans to meet PGA/DP World Tour standards daily.
  • Ensure surface performance meets expectations for firmness, speed, smoothness, and visual presentation year-round.
  • Multi-Course Operational Leadership: Manage agronomic programs across multiple courses and practice facilities.
  • Adapt maintenance strategies to suit specific grass species, microclimates, and usage patterns.
  • Conduct regular quality assessments and implement proactive improvements.
  • Team Management & Leadership: Lead and develop a large, skilled team including Assistant Superintendents, Foremen, Technicians, and Irrigation Specialists.
  • Promote a culture of detail, discipline, and pride in delivering best-in-class playing conditions.
  • Build team capacity and succession through mentorship and structured development.
  • Agronomic Expertise & Innovation: Use soil and turf data, moisture sensing, and weather modeling to drive turf health decisions.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, machinery, and inputs suited for warm-season turfgrass.
  • Oversee renovation, drainage, and construction projects aligned with long-term agronomic goals.
  • Environmental Stewardship & Compliance: Lead sustainable practices in water use, nutrient management, and chemical application.
  • Ensure full compliance with local and international environmental and safety regulations.
  • Support club-level sustainability goals and maintain certifications where applicable.
  • Budgeting & Procurement: Collaborate on operational and capital budgeting.
  • Track labor, materials, and machinery usage to stay within budget.
  • Manage vendor relationships and procurement for turf products, equipment, and inputs.
  • Tournament & Event Integration: Serve as the point of contact for all agronomy-related aspects of major tournaments and events.
  • Work with Tournament Directors and Golf Ops to ensure course setup exceeds expectations.
  • Manage recovery plans post-event to restore peak conditioning quickly.
Job Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in golf course or sports turf management, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven expertise managing warm-season turfgrasses (Bermudagrass, TifEagle of equal, Zoysiagrass, or Seashore and Platinum Paspalum) in hot climates.
  • Demonstrated success preparing and conditioning courses for PGA Tour, DP World Tour, or equivalent tournaments.
  • Deep technical knowledge in irrigation systems, fertility programs, cultural practices, and disease/pest management.
  • Multi-course or resort-style facility experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong business acumen, experienced in preparing approval papers, budget documentation, and operational reports; financially literate and detail-oriented.
  • Advanced chemical knowledge, fluent in both trade and scientific chemical names, formulations, and mixtures; able to oversee compliant and effective application programs.
  • Strong communicator and team builder, able to motivate and lead large crews with clarity and accountability.
  • Committed to high standards, precision, and continuous improvement.
