Job summary

A leading technology firm in Singapore seeks a Storage & Unix/Linux Infrastructure Specialist to lead technical tasks and oversee storage projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in various storage technologies and a minimum of 5 years' experience. This position offers a yearly renewable contract with the potential for permanent employment based on performance. Fluency in French is a plus, and candidates must be available for rotating shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 7 years of relevant storage experience.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL/ITSM frameworks.
  • Must have relevant certifications in SAN/NAS or Fabric.

About the job Storage & Unix/Linux Infrastructure Specialist (Banking)

Responsibilities:

Technical & Team Leadership

  • Delegates and oversees technical tasks across the team.
  • Promotes collaboration and best practice sharing.
  • Trains team members and supports technical skill development.
  • Documents, shares, and maintains technical knowledge.
  • Drives automation, LEAN initiatives, and service improvements.

Storage Expertise

  • Deep technical involvement in Dell/EMC Isilon, HPE XP7, 3PAR, and Brocade.
  • Expert in SAN/NAS solutions, including disaster recovery, performance tuning, replication, and capacity planning.
  • Comfortable in multi-site enterprise environments.
  • Experience with monitoring tools, scripting, and automation.
  • Cross-platform OS understanding (Windows, Linux, UNIX).
  • Responsible for production readiness of new storage projects.
  • Acts as the technical escalation point.
  • Engages in incident resolution and RCA (Root Cause Analysis).
  • Maintains strong client relationships, managing expectations and risks.

Legal & Compliance

  • Must follow all relevant regulatory/compliance policies (e.g., financial crime prevention).

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, Programming, Systems Analysis, or related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant storage experience.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL/ITSM frameworks.
  • Hands-on in scripting (for automation).
  • Must have relevant certifications in SAN/NAS or Fabric.
  • Strong interpersonal, logical reasoning, and communication skills.
  • Team player with customer service mindset.
  • Knowledge of French is a plus for engaging with French-speaking team members.

Additional info:

  • This role is offered on a yearly renewable contract basis, with the potential for permanent employment based on performance.
  • Will work rotating shifts, with a focus on European hours.
  • Available for on-call rotation support (including weekends).
