We are seeking an Applied AI Engineer to develop and deploy novel applications, leveraging Google’s generative AI models. This role focuses on rapidly developing new features, and working across partner teams to deliver solutions, maximizing impact for Google & top customers. You will be instrumental in translating cutting‑edge AI research into real‑world products, and demonstrating the capabilities of latest generation models. We are looking for engineers with a strong track record of building and shipping software, ideally with experience in early‑stage environments where they have contributed to scaling products from initial concept to production. The ideal candidate will be motivated by the opportunity to drive product & business impact.

This role requires a strong software engineering foundation and a passion for building and iterating on software products, using state‑of‑the‑art GenAI tools. We are looking for engineers who thrive in fast‑paced environments and have a proven ability to deliver high‑quality code. Experience in prototyping, building, and scaling software is essential. Job responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable software applications leveraging generative AI models.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms and understanding of software development best practices, including testing & deployment.
• 1 year of experience with core GenAI concepts (LLM, Multi‑Modal, Large Vision Models) and experience with text, image, video, or audio generation.
• 1 year of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging) and experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, etc.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms and infrastructure (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure).

Preferred qualifications

• Proven experience in rapidly developing and shipping software products.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
