Job description
  • Minimum 1 to 4 years of sales/marketing experience gained in the commodity trading sector. Relevant experience dealing with suppliers pertaining to commodity products is also useful
  • Experience in import & export business (forwarding & trading activities) relating to commodities is required
  • Knowledge of plastics/polymer/chemicals is preferred but not a must (relevant sales exposure covering other commodity products will be considered)

Our client is an international chemical trading and investment MNC backed by a blue-chip parent company which is stable and established. It is based in town (right next to a MRT station). This MNC offers flexi work arrangements (some WFH days is allowed).

For this role, you are part of the sales team. The role can be at the senior exec or deputy manager level. Your main duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities
  • Sales and Marketing duties with suppliers in the region (global role)
  • To set up credit line, review and analyze the financial status of customers and manage credit control in accordance with our company’s requirements.
  • Coordinate with overseas offices for potential customers of expanding sales of Plastics resin (PP)
  • Correspondence & coordination with suppliers, clients & overseas offices including the firm’s Head Office
  • Monthly or weekly pricing from suppliers to customers / distributors
  • Quarterly reviews on sales budget set with suppliers / distributors
  • Prepare monthly sales result / report or as and when required.
  • Visit & service customers.
  • Identify new customers and create synergy and maximize business opportunity share from the customers.
  • Support sale presentations to customers for new product grade
  • Manage and coordinate customer support activities, allowed by the principal, for the assigned customer base and to manage assigned personnel to maximize profit, growth and industry awareness within the boundaries set in the product marketing strategies / objectives.
  • Set up a teamwork with liaison office to support customers in the region.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance of activities in assigned area.
  • Support principal in realizing sales budget for the assigned customers according to the fixed price list provided by the principal.
  • Manage outstanding invoices / customers’ complaints.
  • Setting sales strategy within the sales area
  • Responsible for supporting in local key account management, plans and customer contacts.
  • Provides local market intelligence and share within team.
  • Managing end user relations by coordinates agent activities, technical services, marketing, distribution in area
  • Act as a collaborative team player
  • Open to travelling when necessary, on business trips in assigned region. Entertainment with guests and business associates in the evening is sometimes required.
Requirements
  • Degree/Polytechnic Diploma holder in any discipline with minimum 1 to 4 years of sales/marketing experience gained in the commodity trading sector.
  • Relevant experience dealing with suppliers pertaining to commodity products is also useful
  • Experience in import & export business (forwarding & trading activities) is required. Experience overseeing the full export transaction cycles including contract execution, bills of lading and resolution of import/export duties is essential.
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint (High Presentation level is required).
  • Knowledge of plastics/polymer/chemicals is preferred but this is not a must. Sales experience covering other commodity products will be considered.
