Job Description

Make your mark by ensuring safe, compliant and efficient offshore operations. In this role, you act as the vital link between our vessels and the office, overseeing safety and coordinating logistical activities to support uninterrupted operations. You ensure full compliance with applicable regulations and maintain vessel documentation to the highest standards. As a trusted backup officer, you are ready to support crane barges offshore when required.

By actively contributing to our organization’s quality, safety and environmental management system, you play a key role in our culture of continuous improvement. Within your scope of responsibility, you consistently apply company policies and procedures to safeguard people, assets and the environment.

Your responsibilities as a SHEQ Officer:

  • Manage and maintain vessel documentation, certification, inventory, crew training matrix and safety communications for all owned and chartered vessels.

  • Provide operational and safety support to vessels through regular onboard visits, assisting with maintenance routines, audits, surveys, and compliance.

  • Support safe lifting operations by contributing to risk assessments (RA), JHA and procedures, and by tracking the status and certification of lifting gear.

  • Coordinate vessel logistics and planning, including scheduling, job numbers, vessel movements, yard entry permit/ permit to work (PTW) and tug arrangements in liaison with relevant stakeholders.

  • Support the Logistics Manager and collaborate with SHE‑Q on safety initiatives, training, vessel safety surveillance check/ periodic vessel safety inspection visits and continuous improvement in line with NINA principles.

  • Implement and enforce company HSE policies, procedures, and safety management systems onboard vessels and at worksite and offshore.

You can make your mark as a SHEQ Officer if you have:

  • A diploma or certification related to Marine Studies, Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, or any relevant field. Candidates with Deck/Engine Certificate of Competency will have an added advantage.

  • Experience working onboard marine vessels, crane barges, or similar environments is beneficial but not required.

  • New entrants with strong interest in marine operations and safety are encouraged to apply.

  • Awareness of IMO conventions (e.g., SOLAS, MLC, ISPS, MARPOL) is helpful. Training will be provided for candidates without prior knowledge.

  • Basic understanding of Safety Management Systems—or willingness to learn how they are implemented and used within a company.

  • Good communication skills, teamwork, and proactive attitude towards safety.
