Job Title:
You’ll make a difference by:
- Installing and commissioning systems – Installing, configuring, and commissioning building management, fire detection and alarm, and electronic security systems including CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection.
- Testing and validating system performance – Carrying out functional testing such as point-to-point checks, loop testing, and full system verification to ensure reliable operation and compliance with standards.
- Maintaining and repairing live systems – Performing preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnosing faults, and repairing hardware, software, and network‑related issues.
- Responding to breakdowns and service calls – Attending emergency call‑outs, troubleshooting efficiently, and restoring systems to minimise downtime and safety risk.
- Optimising system operation – Reviewing alarms, trends, and system data to improve performance, reliability, safety, and energy efficiency, including remote support where applicable.
- Supporting customers and stakeholders – Providing clear technical guidance, coordinating with contractors and internal teams, and communicating progress and solutions professionally.
Qualifications
- Relevant engineering qualification – Diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Building Automation, or a related engineering discipline.
- Hands‑on service experience – 2–5 years’ experience working with building management, fire detection, or electronic security systems in a service or commissioning role.
- Strong technical foundation – Solid understanding of building control systems, fire alarm systems, electronic security systems, and basic networking principles.
- Ability to interpret technical information – Confident reading electrical drawings, control diagrams, schematics, and system documentation.
- Effective problem solver and communicator – Able to work independently under pressure and communicate clearly with customers and colleagues.
- Flexible and site‑ready – Willing to work on‑call or outside normal hours when required, comfortable working at heights or in plant rooms, and holding a valid driving licence.
