Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience as Operator of Voyage / Time Charter dry bulk vessels.
• Experience managing multiple vessels (8-10 at a time).
• Strong customer or supplier relationship skills.
• Knowledge of macroeconomics including trade flows.
• Fluent in English; other languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage the end-to-end operations of allocated dry vessels.
• Communicate with vessel owners, ship masters, and charterers.
• Follow up on post-fixture activities and manage external customer relations.
• Lead process improvement initiatives.

We are currently working with a global commodity Trader who are looking for a Senior Vessel Operator to join their shipping team within Singapore. This is a great opportunity for someone to join a well established team with a highly dynamic work environment.

Main accountabilities

operations matter, for Dry Cargo ships

• Operate and be responsible for the end to end management of all allocated dry vessels’
• Communicate and liaise with vessel owner’s / ship masters / charterers, trading team and other relevant stakeholders on voyage instructions
• Responsible for following up on post fixture activities
• Manage assigned external relations with customers and / or suppliers
• Support and lead process improvement initiatives as required
• Ensure and champion a close and harmonious working relationship with the relevant Commercial team
• Collaborate effectively with other Freight Platform desks

Knowledge and Experience

• 8+ years’ experience as Operator of Voyage / Time Charter dry bulk vessel, minimally 8-10 vessels at a time
• Significant and demonstrated customer or supplier relationship skills
• An interest in and aptitude for people management
• Knowledge of macroeconomics including trade flows
• Commercial Maturity / Shipping or Economic studies
• Fluent in English essential, with other languages an advantage
• Proficient in use of technology particularly Excel, Word, Shipping system (strong preference for IMOS).
