Qualifications

What it's about

In this position, you will be part of the Investment Valuation Services team, which is responsible for the investment monitoring and valuation processes across our Indirect investments. This is a senior role, where the successful candidate is expected to spearhead the strategic oversight and operational excellence of valuation processes across our diversified portfolio of Fund of Funds investments spanning private equity, private debt, infrastructure, royalties, and real estate sectors.

Core Responsibilities
  • Leading the Fund Valuation Control process: Oversee the complete Fund Valuation Control framework, ensuring robust processes, quality standards, and timely delivery of valuation outputs across all asset classes to support our daily/monthly/quarterly valuation cycles. Establish best practices and maintain regulatory compliance for our indirect investment portfolio.
  • Oversight of the Fund of Funds portfolio reporting timeliness: Manage the comprehensive valuation lifecycle for our fund of funds investments, implementing effective monitoring systems such as the timely processing of General Partner Reporting and Fair Value Adjustment Process.
  • Team management: Lead and develop a specialized fund valuation team, including resource planning, task allocation, mentoring and performance reviews of team members. Foster professional growth while ensuring optimal team productivity and collaboration.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate and build strong rapport with internal stakeholders within Partners Group as well as external parties (service providers, auditors, etc.) on valuation-related matters relevant to our indirect investments.
  • Contributing to process improvement: Identify opportunities to improve valuation methodologies, reporting tools, and operational workflows. Lead initiatives to implement new technologies and streamline processes for greater efficiency and drive operational excellence while ensuring accuracy and compliance across our indirect investment platform.
What we expect

The successful candidate should have the following profile:

  • University degree, preferably in accounting and/or Finance.
  • Ideally 10+ years of relevant experience in the financial industry (in a controlling, audit or valuation function) with a good understanding on the different types of financial instruments and valuation concepts. Experience in understanding of private markets valuations and ability to challenge accuracy of valuations prepared is a plus. Additionally, the candidate has 3+ years of experience in people management.
  • The level of seniority for the position will depend on the candidate’s relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills and a good team player. Experience in coaching and leading a small team is a plus.
  • Knowledge with SQL queries, programming languages or business analytics software such Qliksense is a bonus.
  • Proficient in MS Office and specifically MS Excel.
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and multi-cultural environment to achieve clear goals within a short timeframe.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with good interpersonal skills.
