Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

The trade manager is responsible for the overall volume development and GP of the trade covering Asia Pacific to North Europe and Mediterranean. The individual drives and defines the trade strategy aligned with regionals and countries.

The trade manager is responsible for setting and executing the global carriers strategy for the trade by personally managing and developing the relationship with our core carriers.

The role is part of the regional trade management responsible for aligning and setting a clear direction for the FCL product development and growth collaboration with the growth. Reporting to regional head of trade management

Key Tasks
  • Strategy and P&L management
  • Responsible for FCL P&L on the trade down to GP level
  • Define and drive trade strategy and growth country focused trade lanes
  • Ensure FCL budgeted business development by setting and agreeing goals with carriers, countries and partner regions
  • Distribute regular market information for the trade
  • Maintain and develop carriers relationship, focusing on strategic partner carriers and aligning with the global carrier strategy
  • Negotiate and secure competitive FAK and NAC, terms such as space allocation, D&D with carriers; Optimize payment terms
  • Monitor core carrier adherence performance weekly and monthly to achieve target
  • Maximize and optimize carrier incentives
  • Responsible for port to port RFQ pricings
  • Establish and communicate trade volume targets for all countries and support delivery of the targets through regular engagement and performance review
  • Retain existing business while onboard new customers
  • Actively engage with key customers for the trade and sponsor the relationship growth with them.
  • Work closely with regional operation and execution team for allocation and capacity fulfillment
  • Drive, support and coordinate global projects upon request.
