Job summary

A leading robotics solutions provider in Singapore is seeking a Robotics Scientist to develop smart robotic solutions. The ideal candidate will lead the design and implementation of advanced motion planning algorithms and integrate machine learning techniques to enhance robot capabilities. A PhD in a relevant field and strong experience in programming are essential, as well as the ability to mentor junior engineers while collaborating across teams. This is a contract role with significant project responsibilities.

Qualifications

Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Robotics Scientist with expertise in mobile manipulator and humanoid motion planning with a proven track record of leading and delivering complex projects. The candidate will play a pivotal technical role in developing smart robotic solutions, ensuring they perform efficiently and intelligently. Experience with robot vision and/or ROS 2 (Robot Operating System) is an advantage.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced trajectory and motion planning algorithms to optimize manipulator movements and achieve collision‑free motion in various applications. Applying deep technical expertise in kinematics and control to improve motion accuracy, flexibility, and task efficiency for robotic manipulators.
  • Support integration of machine learning techniques, including deep‑learning methods, to enhance robot control and decision‑making processes, making our robots more adaptable and intelligent.
  • Applying computer vision and image processing techniques to improve robot perception and object recognition capabilities.
  • Continuously research and implement state‑of‑the‑art algorithms and methodologies to improve robot performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and researchers, to achieve project goals.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and researchers, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development within the team.
  • Contribute to project planning, proposal writing and technical reviews, ensuring successful translation of research outcomes into deployable systems.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders such as research collaborators, industry partners and end‑users to gather requirements, provide technical updates and ensure proposed solutions meet technical and business objectives.
Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in manipulator trajectory planning and mobile robot navigation.
