Job summary

A leading engineering company in Singapore seeks a Quantity Surveyor with at least 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, particularly in the semiconductor sector. The successful candidate will manage project budgets, assist with tender documents, and negotiate contracts. Proficiency in English and Chinese is required for effective communication with associates. This role offers opportunities to work in a fast-paced environment and develop project management skills.

Qualifications

  • Possess a Degree in Quantity Surveying / Building or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
  • Highly motivated, self-driven with initiatives to work independently.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Sound computer literacy, including advanced skills in Excel.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate cost estimation.
  • Assist in preparing and issuing tender documents.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Manage contracts related to MEP and Civil/Structural works.
  • Handle variations, claims, and change orders.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Identify and manage cost risks and schedule delays.
  • Regularly inspect the site to ensure work is progressing as planned.
  • Act as a key point of contact between clients, contractors, and project teams.
  • Ensure smooth communication regarding project costs and schedules.
  • Any ad-hoc duties as assigned.
