What you will do:
The Senior Project Engineer will lead the technical delivery of Building Management System (BMS) projects for mission-critical data centers. This includes detailed engineering design, system integration, testing, and commissioning. The role requires advanced technical expertise in BMS platforms, strong understanding of data center MEP systems, and the ability to manage subcontractors, suppliers, and junior engineers to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
How you will do it:
Engineering & Design
- Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, and client requirements for BMS scope.
- Prepare engineering documentation including I/O schedules, control panel layouts, control logic sequences, and system architecture diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and data center Tier requirements.
- Coordinate integration of BMS with:
- Electrical Systems: UPS, switchgear, generators, PDUs.
- Mechanical Systems: chillers, CRAC/CRAH, cooling towers, pumps.
- Fire Systems: alarms, suppression, VESDA.
Project Execution & Coordination
- Lead BMS technical execution from design to commissioning.
- Coordinate with MEP, IT, and controls teams to ensure system compatibility and optimal performance.
- Supervise subcontractors during installation and ensure adherence to quality and safety requirements.
- Support the Project Manager in progress reporting, schedule updates, and change management.
Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Develop and execute testing protocols:
- Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- System Integration Testing (SIT)
- Integrated Systems Testing (IST) for data center readiness.
- Review and validate graphics, alarms, and control sequences before handover.
- Ensure as-built documentation, O&M manuals, and training are completed and approved.
Technical Leadership
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance on best practices and technical problem-solving.
- Review vendor designs and shop drawings for compliance.
- Serve as the technical escalation point for BMS-related issues.
What we look for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Controls Engineering.
- Certifications in BMS platforms (e.g Easy IO Jace, Honeywell EBI, Johnson Controls Metasys) preferred.
- Data center certifications such as CDCP® / CDCS® advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in BMS project engineering, with a proven track record of delivering complex BMS integrations for enterprise-level data center projects.
- Hands-on experience in design, installation, and commissioning of complex BMS systems.
- Strong knowledge of integration protocols (BACnet, Modbus, OPC, SNMP).
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and control system schematics.
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management tools.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
