Job summary

A leading industrial company in Singapore is seeking an Operations Technician for its blending plant. The role involves operating decanting units, assisting in blending operations, and performing troubleshooting on automation systems. The position requires teamwork and flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Attended WSQ AWSHPP and WAH course.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Lubes Oil Blending Plant Operations or the Oil and Gas industry.
• Good team player with willingness to work night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operating the ABB Drum Decanting Unit and semi-automatic drum decanting system.
• Assisting the Lead Operator in blending operations and monitoring via Yokogawa DCS.
• Performing basic troubleshooting on automated drum filling line.

Job description

Job Scope

• Receiving of bulk additive isotank and discharging the additive into the storage tank
• Operate the ABB Drum Decanting Unit (DDU) and the Semi-Automatic drum decanting system, carry out additive drum decanting (DDP)
• Line up of the base oil, additive, and finished product tank
• To assist the Lead Operator on the In-Line Blending, Simultaneous Metering Blending, Premix Blending Operations, monitoring of the blending and decanting operation via Yokogawa DCS
• To collect a blending sample and send to Lab for testing
• To support the base oil tanker and barge loading operations working on the rostered night shift, on Sat, Sun, and Public holidays
• To attend to any process upset, instrument fault at the field upon the instruction by the Lead Operator and CCR
• To carry out tank physical gauging when requested by Lead Operator
• To be involved in the month-end stock count
• To carry out housekeeping of the production area
• To operate the automated drum filling line and operate the Pack’R HMI and Yokogawa DCS
• To perform basic troubleshooting of the drum filling line – drum filler, label applicator, palletizer, shrink wrapped machine, etc
• To carry out IBC and bulk truck filling via the electronic flow meter
• To assist the Lead Operator to carry out line-up of the base oil, additive, and finished product tank
• To perform SAP transaction
• To print outa sample label from SAP
• To raise a Maintenance work order
• To carry out SLT on the risk profile and input to the SLT Power Apps
• To train and coach any new Operator
• Assist the Lead Operator to carry out LOTO at the field
• Any other duties that may be assigned by the Lead Operator

Requirements

• Attended WSQ AWSHPP, WAH course
• Diploma in Engineering
• Min 3 years of experience, preferably in Lubes Oil Blending Plant Operations or Oil and Gas industry
• Working knowledge of operating DCS, HMI systems
• Willing to work at night and on Sat & Sun, Public Holidays
