Senior NPI Engineer, Mechatronics Integration / Assembly

Our client is a Dutch Multinational, specialising in the assembly of complex mechanical and mechatronic modules for high-tech industries like semiconductors and analytical equipment. Providing precision manufacturing and integrated assembly solutions.

Job Description

• Focal point of contact with customers in terms of early involvement with customer's design engineers to set up the specs, feasibility studies.
• Lead and coordinate NPI engineering activities from prototype build through production ramp-up, acting as the technical focal point for customers and internal teams.
• Drive design and process readiness, including DFM/DFA/DFT reviews, process flow definition, work instructions, and tooling/fixture development.
• Plan and execute prototype, pilot, and qualification builds, ensuring build readiness, data analysis, troubleshooting, and smooth transition to mass production.
• Ensure process validation, quality compliance, and documentation, including IQ/OQ/PQ, PFMEA, PCP, FAI, PPAP, and customer audits.
• Drive continuous improvement and cost optimization through Lean, Six Sigma, yield enhancement, cycle-time reduction, and automation initiatives.

Job Requirements

• Strong knowledge of semiconductor and mechatronics assembly processes, including wire bonding, die attach, SMT, cleanroom practices, and complex mechatronic systems.
• Hands‑on experience in NPI project management within semiconductor or contract manufacturing environments.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes (mechanical, electronics, controls, pneumatics, hydraulics) with ability to read drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
• Proficiency in DFM/DFX principles, process validation, ERP planning, and development of E‑BOM and M‑BOM.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills, including customer‑facing technical discussions and root cause analysis.
