Job Description
  • Develop, validate, and optimize complex machining processes for CNC milling, turning, grinding, and multi‑axis machining.
  • Read, interpret, and analyze cross‑process technical and engineering drawings.
  • Create and review manufacturing process flows to support production and quality requirements.
  • Lead machining process development for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve high‑impact machining issues, including tolerance drift, tool wear or failure, chatter, and surface finish defects.
  • Design, review, or specify advanced jigs and fixture concepts to improve machining accuracy and repeatability.
  • Evaluate and select cutting tools, tool geometries, coatings, and tool‑holding solutions based on material type tolerance requirements and machining strategy.
  • Define and optimize machining parameters such as cutting speed, feed rate, depth of cut, step‑over, coolant strategy, and toolpath methods to achieve stable and efficient processes.
  • Implement process improvements through parameter adjustments and tooling upgrades to enhance yield, reduce variation, and improve overall machining quality.
  • Validate process changes through capability studies, first‑article inspection (FAI) results, and productiontrial runs.
  • Performing any other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Job Requirement
  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of hands‑on experience in CNC machining process engineering within semiconductor, precision engineering or related industries.
  • Strong experience in CNC milling, turning, grinding, and multi‑axis machining.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, including GD&T and cross‑process requirements.
  • Solid knowledge of machining parameters, cutting tools, tool materials, coatings, and tool‑holding systems.
  • Hands‑on experience in process optimization, capability studies (Cp/Cpk), FAI, and production trials.
  • Experience in NPI machining process development and production ramp‑up support.
  • Ability to design or specify jigs and fixtures concepts to improve accuracy, repeatability, and productivity.
  • Familiar with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, NX, or equivalent.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to resolve complex machining issues independently.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams.
  • Willingness to support shopfloor activities and customer or audit requirements when needed.
  • Willing to work on‑site at Changi North Crescent.
