Overview

The upcoming Eastern General Hospital (EGH) seeks to provide excellent healthcare and promote healing that is centred around each person. When operational, EGH will provide a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient clinical specialties and healthcare services covering emergency, acute and secondary care. This role sits within the Communications team and focuses on internal communications. You will shape and deliver clear, timely and inspiring communications that help build staff identity and drive employee engagement.

Responsibilities

You will develop and manage EGH’s internal communications channels such as the intranet, staff newsletter and internal social networking platforms, and create content for them by developing story angles, interviewing profiles, writing and storytelling to convey key messages. You will also provide communications support for various initiatives, including events and community engagement activities. Together with the team, you will ensure that EGH’s communications are aligned with its objectives, tone and style, and are timely and well-received. This role offers a unique opportunity to journey with EGH through its development milestones and ensure robust communications in the lead-up to and for its eventual operations.

Qualifications
  • Recognised degree, preferably in communications or public relations
  • Excellent command of the English language (spoken and written) with good writing and storytelling skills
  • Good grasp of new communication tools and trends, including digital platforms such as websites/intranet systems and social media
  • Able to structure content and package information to engage audiences on different communication platforms
  • Possesses an eye for design. Basic know-how in the use of design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, Capcut) would be advantageous
  • Enthusiastic self-starter
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to build positive relationships with multi-level stakeholders
  • Meticulous and pays attention to details
