Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to oversee design developments in foundation systems and geotechnical analysis. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering and have a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with local codes and excellent project management skills are essential. The role requires leading detailed designs and conducting site surveys, ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project.

Job description

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for design development for foundation system, deep excavation, tunneling and/ or land reclamation works under supervision of a team leader.
  • Responsible for analysis and design of geotechnical and structural elements.
  • Assist team leader to liaise and coordinate with clients, contractors for the design development
  • Review soil profile and perform geotechnical design calculation for preliminary studies.
  • Lead in the preparation of detailed design reports, calculations, and drawings.
  • Perform geotechnical analysis and geotechnical findings.
  • Responsible for geotechnical design development and assessment including ground improvement works, foundation design, ERSS and Instrumentation
  • Oversee feasibility studies and prepare weekly reports & work programs.
  • Conduct site surveys, monitoring and review instrumentation readings, also involved in Risk Management
  • Prepare and compile technical reports and drawings.
  • Plays a key role in client management and client satisfaction.
  • Liaison with project stakeholders, clients, other consultants, contractors, relevant authorities.
  • Assist with authority submission requirements for geotechnical works.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s / Masters degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in Geotechnical
  • Familiar with numerical analysis of soil structure interaction
  • Conversant with local codes and authority submission procedures
  • Excellent technical and project management skills
  • Familiar with Plaxis and Slope/W
  • Conversant with statutory code and requirements for site supervision, quality control procedure and construction administration.
