Job summary

A well-established engineering company in Singapore is looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer to lead a team in designing and supervising the fabrication of electrical switchboards and control panels. The role includes managing design processes, ensuring quality controls, and providing technical advice on marine control systems. Candidates must hold a Diploma/Degree in Electrical or Marine Engineering. The position offers a competitive salary and company transport for those commuting to Tuas. Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
• Relevant experience in ship control systems considered advantageous.
• Knowledge in DC-grid power systems is a plus.

Job description

• Well Established Company
• Basic $4500 to $6500 + AWS + VB
• Working Location: Tuas (Company Transport Provided)
• Monday to Friday: 8:15am to 5:45pm
• Switchboards / Panels (Marine or Industrial) design

Job Responsibilities

• Lead, guide and supervise subordinates. Plan, allocate and assign jobs to subordinates and accountable for his / her entire teams’s assigned project result
• Check and approve design drawings and documents produced by subordinate staff under his/her charge
• Responsible for the effective implementation and control of Design Control functions and quality system of the Quality Management System
• Prepare material requisition lists for job requirements
• Plan and design electrical switchboards, consoles and control panels according to customer’s requirements and company standards
• Prepare approval drawings, shop drawings, final drawings / documents, short circuit calculations, instruction manuals as required for submission to clients and shopfloor production.
• Co-ordinate with clients and consultants on the technical requirements. Attend technical discussions with clients and consultants when required
• Check and follow-up on design and shop drawings with production departments.
• Assist and advise Sales & Marketing Department on technical matters; provide technical backup for securing of contracts.
• Follow the procedures of the Quality Management System for effective implementation and control
• Carry out other responsibilities as and when assigned by the superior

Requirements

• Diploma and/or Degree in Electrical Engineering or Marine Engineering or equivalent
• Further knowledge or experience in any one of the followings is an advantage:

1. DC-grid power system and switchgear control for ship
2. VFD Control and Integration with Azimuth Thruster
3. Energy management for Hybrid ship
