Senior Chemical Technician (WDA) – 2 years contract

Manufacturing Operations teams are the people that make our products. We work in the manufacturing plants with a “Safety First, Quality Always” mindset and strive for continuous improvement. This position is located at our local plant and is connected to our global manufacturing network.

What You’ll Do

The Chemical Technician will operate and monitor the chemical production activities in the plant, ensure processes run according to the process description, complete batch documentation, and adhere to quality and safety standards while meeting production targets.

  • Operate and monitor assigned chemical processes including pre‑batch checks, vessel charging, post‑charge verification, routine sampling, and batch offloading.
  • Adjust and monitor process conditions using automation inputs and personal inspection.
  • Maintain material segregation, label containers accurately, and conduct routine checks and scheduled cleaning for process and facilities.
  • Record all operational and analytical data, inform the Shift Production Lead of any process abnormalities, and perform material handling duties including forklift operation.
  • Supervise and oversee third‑party contractors where applicable and provide on‑the‑job training to other Chemical Technicians.
  • Lead troubleshooting, pre‑commissioning, and chemical commissioning activities as directed and participate in SHE, business compliance, cGMP, and other compliance matters.
  • Lead a section of Chemical Technicians to meet production targets while maintaining Good Manufacturing Practice, safety, and housekeeping standards.
  • Attend meetings, training events, and maintain all qualifications and development milestones as required.
What You Must Have
  • Higher diploma or degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical engineering or Science, or equivalent operations experience.
  • Good stewardship awareness in cGMP, regulatory inspection preparation, SHE.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and divisional policies/guidelines (cleaning, housekeeping, maintenance, environmental control, process validation, change control, manufacturing practices).
  • Demonstrated ethics, integrity, result driven focus on customers and patients, and rapid disciplined decision‑making.
  • Act with courage and candor, build talent, foster collaboration, and communicate effectively.
  • Willingness to work 12 hours rotating shift (day/night).
Eligibility & Career Conversion

Singapore citizens or Permanent Residents only. This is a career conversion program under Workforce Singapore (WSG) and is open to PMETs or mid‑careerists with no prior biopharma industry experience. The contract duration is two years.
