Drive Control and Innovation within Group Finance

DBS's Group Finance division seeks a seasoned and highly analytical Senior Associate / Assistant Vice President to join our Product Control team. This critical role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment and enhance our robust control framework. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial products, a meticulous approach to control, and a proven ability to deliver insightful analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver accurate and timely daily P&L reporting, incorporating detailed decomposition and insightful commentary.
  • Proactively monitor and investigate exceptions related to key controls, encompassing P&L, new deals, off‑market checks, and trade monitoring, ensuring adherence to established procedures.
  • Conduct comprehensive monthly trend analysis of key product control data, including P&L decomposition, off‑market checks, and new deals, identifying and escalating potential risks and opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development and monitoring of quality control KRIs, proactively highlighting areas requiring attention and proposing solutions.
  • Provide timely and effective support to stakeholders, responding to ad‑hoc queries and requests with precision and professionalism.
  • Champion the adoption and implementation of advanced data analytic tools (e.g., Qlikview, Tableau) to enhance reporting and analysis capabilities.
  • Execute accurate and timely monthly P&L and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities and implement process improvements to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency within the team.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to systems implementation projects, including user acceptance testing, ensuring seamless integration and robust control processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Product Control, Financial Control, Audit, or a related function within the financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial products and their associated risks.
  • Advanced analytical skills and a meticulous attention to detail, coupled with the ability to synthesize complex information and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, demanding environment, effectively managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Proactive and results‑oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite, including advanced Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
