Job summary

A leading insurance and investment firm in Singapore is seeking a qualified accountant to manage and review accounting records related to investment transactions. The ideal candidate will possess strong Excel VBA skills, a deep understanding of IFRS 9, and excellent communication abilities. The role includes collaboration with internal teams and custodian banks to enhance investment accounting processes. Knowledge of IFRS 17 and Python is a plus, with a focus on high proficiency in English.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and IFRS 17 is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Python is a plus.
  • High proficiency in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and/or review accounting records for investment-related transactions.
  • Conduct research on accounting treatment for new or complex investment products.
  • Prepare and/or review SPPI test and ECL model.
  • Liaise with custodian banks to improve investment accounting processes.
  • Partner with investment teams on related projects.
  • Lead or support data quality enhancement initiatives.

Job description
  • Prepare and/or review accounting records for investment-related transactions.
  • Conduct research on the appropriate accounting treatment for new or complex investment products.
  • Prepare and/or review SPPI test and ECL model
  • Liaise with custodian banks to drive initiatives that streamline and improve the investment accounting process.
  • Partner with the Group Investment team, Financial Risk Management team, and Corporate Treasury team on projects related to investment accounting and governance.
  • Lead or support data quality enhancement and validation initiatives in collaboration with the investment systems team.
  • Certified accountants or candidates pursuing qualifications from internationally recognised accounting bodies.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS 9.
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and IFRS 17 is an advantage, but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Excel VBA/macros is essential; knowledge of Python is a plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • High proficiency in written and spoken English.
