Job description

Asia Community Foundation (ACF) is the first Asia-wide platform for collaborative and strategic giving. We enable donors to pool resources, co-create solutions, and drive positive social and environmental impact across the region. As we expand our donor base and manage a growing portfolio of donor‑advised funds (DAFs), impact funds, and bespoke giving vehicles, we are strengthening our Finance team to ensure excellence in financial stewardship, transparency, and donor confidence.

ACF is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Associate / Assistant Manager, Finance to support the organisation's growing financial operations. This role will work closely with the CFO and Finance team to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, smooth execution of accounting processes, and compliance with relevant policies and regulations. The role is ideal for an early‑to‑mid‑career finance professional who is eager to deepen their expertise in nonprofit and multi‑jurisdictional finance, while contributing to ACF's mission.

Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting and Financial Operations
  • Process donation receipts, invoices, payments (grants disbursement and operations) in compliance with ACF policies
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date general ledger records, ensuring timely posting of transactions
  • Prepare / support month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliation, fixed assets, general ledger, reporting schedules, etc.
  • Review and finalize monthly donor and fund statements
  • Support in budget tracking and forecasting
  • Assist in daily financial operations
2. Reporting and Analysis
  • Prepare internal financial reports for management and committees, ensuring accuracy and clarity
  • Support the CFO in preparing Board and donor reports, including dashboards and fund balances
  • Prepare reports for statutory, regulatory and funder reporting
  • Support the financial content for annual report
  • Assist with fund (donor‑advised funds, impact funds and other funds) tracking and reporting to ensure transparency for fundholders
  • Review and finalize monthly fund (donor‑advised funds, impact funds and other funds) statements
3. Compliance and Audit
  • Support external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, nonprofit regulations, and donor requirements
  • Maintain accurate records for tax filings and statutory compliance across relevant jurisdictions
4. Systems and Process Improvement
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of financial systems, tools, and processes.
  • Support the implementation of stronger internal controls and documentation practices.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining finance SOPs and process manuals
5. Team and Organisational Support
  • Collaborate across teams (Donor Development, Grantmaking, Operations) to ensure smooth financial workflows
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the CFO as required
  • Demonstrate ACF's values of transparency, accountability, and collaboration in daily work
Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3-8 years of professional experience in accounting, audit, or nonprofit finance
  • CPA (or working towards qualification) preferred but not required
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting software and MS Excel; experience with multi‑entity or multi‑currency accounting a plus
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative team player with interest in philanthropy and social impact
