Job summary

A leading technology solutions company in Singapore is seeking an experienced software developer to lead the design and development of enterprise applications using Java/J2EE. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microservices architecture, and experience with Spring Framework and cloud migration to AWS. This role requires excellent technical leadership as well as collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering and at least 5 years of related experience are required.

Job description

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable, high-quality application solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain Java/J2EE-based enterprise applications using Object-Oriented design principles.
• Provide technical leadership in application architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
• Develop and integrate applications using Spring Framework (Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring JDBC), Hibernate, and related technologies.
• Design, implement, and expose SOAP and RESTful web services to support system-to-system integrations.
• Lead and support microservices architecture design and implementation.
• Deploy, configure, and support applications on middleware platforms including WebSphere (ND & Base), WebLogic, and JBoss.
• Serve as a technical consultant for enterprise application development, modernization, and integration initiatives.
• Support application deployments across Linux, Unix, and Windows Enterprise environments.
• Provide consulting support for database design, data access optimization, and performance tuning.
• Work with databases such as DB2, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Couchbase.
• Guide and contribute to data center to AWS cloud migration and application modernization efforts.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Perform application assessments, root cause analysis, and recommend long-term technical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to project teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in enterprise application development using Java/J2EE technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Object‑Oriented Programming, design patterns, and application architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring JDBC, and Hibernate.
• Proven experience developing SOAP and RESTful web services.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with IBM WebSphere (ND & Base), Oracle WebLogic, and JBoss application servers.
• Strong database experience with DB2 (9.1, 9.7, 10.1), Oracle 10g/11g, PostgreSQL, and Couchbase.
• Proficiency in SQL, stored procedures, and database performance tuning.
• Experience with AWS cloud platforms, including application or infrastructure migration.
• Hands‑on experience in Linux, Unix, and Windows Enterprise environments.
• Experience working in Agile (Scrum) and Waterfall methodologies.
• Strong consulting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead technical discussions with clients.
